Welcome to the birthplace and centre of Irish Christianity. In Saint Patrick’s Country you can journey to the site of his first church, burial place and the ancient city of the two cathedrals he founded, Armagh and follow his story at an interactive discovery centre. All around is the tangible evidence of those who followed Ireland’s patron saint, in abbey’s, churches, monastic sites and holy crosses. Visit historic Drogheda, which hosts the world famous shrine of Saint Oliver Plunkett.
