Now owned and managed by the National Trust, Mount Stewart is a fascinating 18th century house with 19th century additions. It was the ancestral home of Lord Castlereagh, a statesman and diplomat, and today many of his possessions can be viewed in the House.  Modern history is also represented by the 7th Marquis of Londonderry who was secretary of State for Air and Leader of the House of Lords in 1935.
