Walking - Bloody Bridge

1

Derives its name from a massacre in 1641 at the instigation of the Irish Chieftan Sir Conn Magennis. The Bloody Bridge is located where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea and is a popular access point to the high Mournes in County Down, Northern Ireland. It has two National Trust walks and there are plans to improve the coastal walks between Kilkeel and Newcastle and Kilkeel and Cranfield.
